Biography
Yoko Semoto (b.1930-) is a Japanese painter and artist. Born in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture.
Using classical techniques from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, Semoto draws tempera paintings on boards, glass, and parchment. Lapis lazuli, rose madder, squid ink, etc. are used as raw materials for paints, and the picture frames are also produced. She holds solo exhibitions in various places around Ginza.
